General Sessions Court in Knox and Anderson Counties
The General Sessions Court is a municipal court, the lowest level of Tennessee state courts. It has jurisdiction over misdemeanor crimes and civil cases involving amounts up to $10,000.00. General Sessions Court judges are elected on a partisan ballot in either the May or August primary elections. They serve four-year terms.
